Summer Camp FAQs
-
How can a school or community program get started? If you’re interested in bringing our afterschool pickleball program to your school or facility, reach out to us at thecrew@crewpickle.com. We’d love to discuss how we can set up a program that works for your students!
-
Is Crew Pickleball Club insured?Yes, we are fully insured, and proof of insurance is available upon request.
-
Does Crew Pickleball Club provide transportation? No, Crew Pickleball Club does not provide transportation at this time.
-
What happens if bad weather cancels an outdoor session? If we can, we’ll move the session indoors. If that’s not an option, we’ll schedule a make-up session at the end of the program or on another available day.
-
How many students are in each session? We are very flexible on class size. Our main dependency is available space and we generally keep a low student-to-coach ratio (around 8–12 students per coach and court) to provide plenty of hands-on instruction. If we have access to multiple courts, we can accommodate larger groups while still ensuring personal attention for each student.
-
Who are the coaches? Our instructors are passionate, experienced pickleball players and many are certified coaches who love working with kids. We have a wide range of talent including full-time professionals, teachers, retirees, college students, and more. They’re carefully selected and background-checked to ensure a safe and supportive learning environment.
-
Do students need to bring their own paddle?Students are welcome to bring their own paddle, but we are happy to provide a paddle if needed. Beyond paddles, we provide all the necessary equipment, including balls, nets, and training aids. Students only need to bring: ✔ Comfortable athletic shoes ✔ A water bottle ✔ A positive attitude!
-
Is this program suitable for beginners?Absolutely! Our coaching approach makes pickleball easy to learn, and we group students by skill level so everyone feels comfortable. We welcome both beginners and experienced players, ensuring that each student progresses at their own pace.
-
Where do sessions take place? Our sessions are held at schools, recreation centers, and community spaces that have the appropriate space for pickleball. We can work with both indoor and outdoor locations, setting up temporary court spaces if needed.
-
How does the program work?Typically, students meet once a week for 6–8 weeks at their school or a nearby facility, where our coaches guide them through skill-building drills, games, and friendly matches. We are flexible in scheduling so just let us know what works best for you. Sessions include: Warm-ups & Movement Drills to improve footwork Skill Training (serving, dinking, volleys, and strategy) Game Play & Mini Tournaments to put skills into action Team-Building & Sportsmanship Activities The program is designed to keep students active, engaged, and improving—regardless of their experience level!
